The story goes that, long ago, there was a general who was stationed at Co Tien Mountain and this general had an extremely beautiful wife. During a battle, his wife was raped by soldiers at home. Wanting to keep her chastity to her husband, the wife committed suicide right at this mountain.

Shortly after, her body turned into a mountain range with three peaks in the shape of a woman. The local people were so sad that they named it Fairy Twin Mountains to remember her.

There is also another legend about Fairy Mountain that is passed down by word of mouth among the locals. The legend says that: Since ancient times, Nha Trang land has been famous for being hungry and poor, with only dense forests and reeds growing everywhere on the shore.

 Although there are countless fish and shrimp in the sea, no fisherman dares to go into the sea to catch them because there exists a fierce, evil demon under the sea.

The people were starving and miserable, their cries of misery echoed throughout the land and sky. And their cries reached the highest heaven, where a fairy heard their pitiful cries and decided to come down to earth to help the people overcome their calamity.

 After many days of fighting, the evil demon was finally destroyed and transformed into a Hon Chong with offshore islands.

However, the fairy was also seriously injured. She knew she could not survive. She looked up at the sky one last time and then she passed away forever. Her body turned into a mountain range, which people called Fairy Mountain.

How high is Fairy Mountain?

The mountain is about 400m high, with 3 peaks located next to each other, like the silhouette of a woman with loose hair and looking up to the sky. If counting from the sea, the first peak is the Fairy's head, the second peak is her chest and the last peak is her long legs in a crossed position.

Some experiences when exploring Fairy Mountain

Go to Ngo Van So street, it only costs 5k to park your car and you can walk up the mountain. Every weekend afternoon, there are many groups, families, including the elderly, children, and dogs also join in the climb.

The bare hill has no trees so it is very easy to climb. The ideal time to climb is around 3:30-4:00 pm, go up to get some fresh air and rest, then take pictures of the city lights at night, which is just right.

Around 5:30 PM, climb back down to cool off. There are many people camping overnight up here, so you don't have to worry about going down the mountain at night.
